Transat Café L’Or: halfway point reached for Aina Bauza and Axelle Pillain

After two intense weeks of sailing, Aina Bauza and Axelle Pillain have passed the halfway point of the Transat Café L’Or, a passage of more than 3,750 miles between the Normandy coast and Martinique.

After a very tough first leg in the Bay of Biscay, the fleet made a mandatory stopover in A Coruña. On the second leg, Engie – Dessine-moi la High Tech faced another Atlantic front with gusts of up to 60 knots.

Aina and Axelle weathered the storm without any serious incidents. Near the Canary Islands, they used calmer conditions to repair an anemometer and tidy the boat. They are now tackling the most oceanic section of the course with their sights set on Fort-de-France.
