Aina Bauza Roig

Aina has made the sea his life, both professionally and personally. What began as a small adventure of light sailing around the island of Mallorca has turned into his passion and profession. After 20 years of competing, Aina has sailed on some of the most prominent boats in the world of offshore racing.

Aina Bauzà achieves a transatlantic sailing record in a monohull

– With a 30-day journey, Aina Bauzà, the sailor from Club de Vela Puerto de Andratx, has made history by setting the new solo transatlantic sailing record in a monohull, departing from Cádiz towards the Bahamas.

Growing and learning quickly: Mini 6.5, Figaro 3, Class 40,…

– Over 2000 miles in competition with the 1063 in Spain, France, and England.
– 3rd place in the 100 Milles entre Illes Mini 6.5 Solo.
– Mini 1063 exhibition at the Palma Boat Show.
– 4th place in the non-stop Giro d’Italia with a 1500-mile Figaro 3 with Hambre Hasson.

2022

Many miles and a lot of boat DIY projects

– Collection of the 1063 in Poland.
– First regattas with the 1063.
– Solo 1000-mile qualification route between France, England, and Ireland.
– Presentation of the 1063 at the Palma Boat Show.
– Mini 1063 exhibition at the Barcelona Boat Show.
– 6th doublehanded Offshore World Championship 2022 Figaro 3.
– 2nd place in the inshore Palma Vela Swan 42 (Navigator Position).
– 2nd place in the Non-stop Round Italy Race Doublehanded 1500 miles Figaro 3 with Cecilia Zorzi.

2021

The year she decides to leave Olympic Sailing and start the Mini project, it’s time to learn to sail it, get to know the class, and figure out how to make the most of it.

– Start of the Mini Campaign
– Initiated the construction of the 1063 at the shipyards.
– 4th place in the Two-Person Offshore World Championship 2021 Figaro 3 (1500 miles).
– 2nd place in the Palmavela Offshore 2021 J99 (Navigator Position).

– 4th place in the 2021 Spanish Cup Laser Radial.

2020

The year Aina steps onto a Mini for the first time, her second day on board is the start of a 500-mile double-handed race, and she falls in love with oceanic sailing.

– Italy Grand Prix 2020 Mini 6.5 with Ignasi Tico and the boat Tur Tur.
– Participation in the European Championship in the Olympic Laser Radial category.

2011-2019

Years of learning and training, balancing a sports career within the Spanish Olympic team with university studies.

– Member of the Spanish Team (2011-2019 participation in World and European Championships).
– Spanish Champion 2017 (Medalist in Spanish Championships and Cups 2011-2019).
– 1st place in the Copa del Rey 2019.
– 6th at the Snipe Europeans Championships.
– Bachelor’s Degree in Nautical Studies and Maritime Transport.
