Skippermar: Aina Bauzà, the first Balearic woman to compete in the Mini Transat

Skippermar has published an article about the Mini project:
Mallorcan sailor Aina Bauzà (Palma, 1994), from the Club de Vela Port d’Andratx (CVPA), has made the sea her life, both professionally and personally. Since she began competing in dinghy sailing, she has continued to add miles and is now preparing for her next challenge: crossing the Atlantic alone aboard the Mini 6.50 Redó by Ànima Negra.

Bauzà will be the first Balearic woman to compete solo in offshore sailing. Her next major step is the 2023 Mini Transat in September: a solo, unassisted race aboard a Mini 6.50 with only the most basic comforts — dry sails used as a bed, a bucket as a toilet, freeze-dried food and demanding training to sleep only in short 20-minute naps for weeks. Mini 6.50s are 6.5 metres long and 3 metres wide, among the smallest and fastest racing yachts, but also highly physically demanding.
